Orient Bunkroom Addition
This addition to a weekend house in Orient, New York on the North Fork of Long Island introduces a new bunkroom designed to accommodate the owner’s growing number of grandchildren. Envisioned as a multifunctional space, this compact eighteen by eighteen-foot room features extensive built-in elements that provide four sleeping areas, ample storage, a remote workspace, and a cozy media room.
To cultivate a bright and inviting environment for children, the design showcases light oak, complemented by vibrant yellow accents that provide a lively contrast to deep charcoal elements. This color palette not only enhances the playful atmosphere but also ensures the space is both functional and enjoyable for the entire family.
