Rodrigo Zamora architect

Rodrigo Zamora is a New York City-based architect specializing in residential spaces. With over 15 years of experience in creating bespoke homes, Rodrigo employs a rigorous design approach to find the most simple, elegant, and appropriate solution for his clients.
(Our background)
With over 15 years of experience, Rodrigo has worked on a range of projects from large-scale institutional buildings to temporary installations. Over the last decade, he has focused on high-end homes.
Prior to founding his firm in 2024, he was a Senior Architect at several renowned New York City firms and designed and delivered homes across the United States. These include Passive House-standard, energy-efficient weekend homes on the North Fork of Long Island, apartment renovations and combinations in New York City, an expansive waterfront estate in Connecticut, beach houses in South Carolina and Florida, and a new townhouse in Jackson Hole, Wyoming. In every project, Rodrigo brings a rigorous design approach with the goal of finding the most elegant and appropriate solution for his clients.
Rodrigo has also approached architecture through teaching and historical research. He was a research assistant at the Museum of Modern Art's Architecture Department and he has studied and published on the modern architecture and urban history of Guatemala City. He has lectured on his research and design work at his alma mater, Columbia University, where he completed his Masters of Architecture in 2011 and his Bachelor of Arts in Architecture in 2008. His research and design work has been exhibited at Columbia University, the Storefront for Art and Architecture, and the Center for Architecture in New York City. He has taught design studios for Columbia University's two introductory architecture design studio initiatives, the New York/Paris program and the Introduction to Architecture summer program.
Rodrigo is a licensed architect in New York.

(What we do)
We work across all types of residential projects, from ground up construction projects, to house additions, apartment combinations, and interior transformations.
Spatial evaluation
We assess spaces and properties for their potential, often collaborating with clients at the outset as advisors before they commit to a new space.
Master planning & spatial layout
We organize spaces to align with our clients' goals, ensuring clarity, purpose, and a clear vision throughout the design process.
Material direction
We explore and select textures and finishes that resonate with the objectives of each individual space, ensuring cohesive aesthetics and functionality.
Permitting
We handle the coordination and acquisition of all necessary permits for project execution, including variances, HOA or co-op approvals, historic board reviews, and construction permits.
Project management & delivery
We oversee the design and execution of a project from concept to completion, serving as the primary point of contact for clients while managing design, permitting, consultant coordination, and construction.
Interior design & styling
We source and layer furniture, objects, artworks, and details to complete any space.
Collaboration
We view every project as an opportunity for collaboration. We work as a team with our clients, our consultants, our contractors, and our fellow designers and know this always results in the best projects.
